New year.. New goals

Like anything else in life, setting goals is helpful in achieving them. So when it comes to table tennis it is helpful to set few goals for the new year. Getting better in the game sounds good but it is "too generic". Try to break it down to "smaller" and tangible goals. Smaller goals like, work on 3rd ball attack, improve forehand spin, work on better serves..etc. Remember one thing; drills, drills and more drills.. Ask players with higher skills for advice and you won't be disappointed.

US Open Table Tennis is Comming to Michigan

This is a great news for table tennis players here in Michigan. This is rather unusual venue for this tournament. For the last few years the usual venue was Las Vegas where the mixture of cheep food, affordable hotels and gambling served as another incentive for players from all over the country to join. I hope enough players would join in and make it a successful event here in Grand Rapids. It should be a golden opportunity for players from Michigan to participate in most events. I would encourage all the players in our club to make an effort to play at this event even those who never played a tournament before. There are plenty of rated events that will suit every level. Also this should be an incentive for all to work little bit harder and get fit and work on technique for the big event coming this summer. The event is scheduled for June 30th till July 3rd. See you there.
